Innovation generally refers to changing processes or creating more effective processes, products and ideas (Business.gov.au, 2019). We have already established 4 projects, all in different life cycle stages, with the common objectives of changing local government governance processes and creating effective digital service oriented governance future-proofing tools. These projects being:
- Growing our national networks of ratepayer & resident advocacy communities;
- Creating digital community engagement tools that track and report council’s governance performance in their community engagement programs and associated decision making
- Contributing to local government reforms across Australia, via our national networks, with a longer term view to justify an inquiry commission into local governments and resolve the risks of referendum to include local governments in the Australia constitution when the sector is currently and highly exposed to unethical and poor governance issues with lacking due sanctions.
- Leverage the use of blockchain capabilities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of community inclusive governance performance tracking and reporting in our future digital governance services.
